First Day of Spring 2014: Vernal Equinox

Alas it is SPRING!!!  The day the earth feels a rebirth with increasing daylight and warming temperatures.  The word equinox is derived from Latin words meaning “equal night.”  Days and nights are approximately equal everywhere and the Sun rises and sets due east and west. 

 At the equinoxes, the tilt of the Earth relative to the Sun is zero, which means that the Earth’s axis neither points toward nor away from the Sun.

The vernal, or spring, equinox is a signal to nature to begin renewal – thus the emergence of worms from the earth, ladybugs on screen doors, appearance of green buds, chirping birds and blooming flowers!!!

Open up the windows of your house to let in the sounds of spring, and open up the window of your soul to let in the warmth!!!  Be renewed and uplifted by the beauty in and around you <3
